THE WASHINGTON POST SELECTS SPRING-FORD AREA SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL AS A ONE OF “AMERICA’S MOST CHALLENGING HIGH SCHOOLS”
Spring-Ford Area High School (SFAHS) students and staff continue to receive national recognition for outstanding work, most recently as the school made The Washington Post’s 2015 list of America’s Most Challenging High Schools.
The Washington Post ranks schools through an index formula that’s a simple ratio: the number of Advanced Placement (AP) exams and/or International Baccalaureate and Advanced International Certificate of Education tests given at a school each year, divided by the number of seniors who graduated that year. A ratio of 1.000 means the school had as many tests as graduates. SFAHS has seen an increase in the number of AP exams that students elect to participate in, making their ratio 1.250 in 2015.
Congratulations to our students and staff!

SFASD LAUNCHES "YOUR VOICE" PARENT SURVEY
For the fourth year, we’re offering our Climate Survey of Parents, asking for your feedback on aspects of our schools that most impact student achievement and overall well-being.
As in previous years, the district partnered with independent technology and communications firm K12 Insight to create the survey, which asks about educational quality, parent engagement, student support, safety and behavior, and school leadership, among other topics. The survey will launch, Friday, April 17 and will be available until May 8, 2015.
If we have your current email address on file, you’ll receive a personal survey invitation. If not, you may participate by clicking here.
We are committed to keeping your responses confidential, so K12 Insight will be administering the survey and compiling all results, which will only be reported at the aggregate level. Your candid feedback is the best way for us to be confident that any improvements we make to our programs and services most benefit your children.
Having positive relationships built on trust is crucial to ensuring our district remains the best educational option for all families. So, in the spirit of transparency, after the survey closes we’ll share the results along with how we plan to use your feedback.
Every day, we work to create a learning environment that empowers our students to become lifelong learners who graduate ready to positively contribute to our society. But we know we cannot succeed without your involvement. Please join us in this important conversation.
